Sublimation refers to the instantaneous transition of a substance from its solid state to its gaseous state. In dye-sublimation (or dye-sub for short), images are printed onto transfer paper using specialized water-based dyes. These dyes are the “solid” that is printed on the transfer paper.
The paper is then heated and the dyes turn to gas and are transfered from paper to fabric. As a result of this process, the dye becomes an integral part of the fabric, and the colour incredibly stable. It provides much better results than ink-jet or screen-printing technology.
Moreover, fabric printed by sublimation is resistant to water and can even be washed at cold temperatures.
STEP 1 • Printing
We can print up to 102″ for sublimation on fabric with water based inks.
STEP 2 • Transfer & protection
Heat transfer through a calender where the ink goes from paper to fabric. Ink is now part of the fabric, which can be washed without discoloration.
STEP 3 • Finishing
The fabrics are cut with scissors or with a hot knife to seal the edges. They are then stitched. We can add grommets, hems or lines, as specified.
STEP 4 • Fitting & Installation
All of our products are tested before their delivery to ensure that everything meets standards. We also offer installation services for banners, frames and other display systems. We also install vinyl sticker printing or custom lettering to your vehicle here in our warehouses.
